If you've been a reader for any length of time at all you'll know that one of our primary inspirations for a standalone entertainment site is Rooster Teeth and the amazing content they've been producing for over a decade now. Their comedy sci-fi Lazer Team was their first jaunt into feature films and now with Blood Fest they are tackling the horror comedy genre. It debuted at this year's SXSW but is also getting a limited international theatre release for this week and ticket sales are now live!
The apology came in the early hours of this morning, when the more responsible elements of society would have been in bed, ready for a new working week. Penned on an iPad Pro, with a Bluetooth keyboard, the apology went on to detail all of the issues that have been attributed to the generation over the years and went some way to explain just how we have got to this stage of existence as a society. Many Gen X commentators have said this apology comes too little too late, whilst others decided to take to Facebook to voice their feelings to friends they haven't spoken to since High School and family they haven't seen since that incident at Christmas in 1982.
After a week of good news for Trekkies, hearing that Sir Patrick Stewart is returning to his role of Jean-Luc Picard in a brand new series based around the character, not so good news was bound to follow, to balance out the ying and yang of the universe. Both Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth were in talks to reprise their roles as James and George Kirk in the so far untitled Star Trek 4, however after a lot of back and forth with both Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media, talks have broken down and, for the moment, fallen through.
I personally loved Wreck-It Ralph and I'm very much looking forward to seeing more from that universe! What's even more exciting, for fans of both Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz as they take on the world wide web, is that a lot more characters will receive the cameo and fan service treatment this time around, including a roster to make the Disney nerds among us squeak with excitement. Ever wanted to see how all the well to do Disney Princesses relax after a hard day of royaltying? Wonder no longer!
Martha and Jimmy take a trip to Magna Science Centre in Rotherham and share their thoughts on the trip and what it involved with video from inside the museum and their Aqua-tek and Sci-Tek parks.
A series in which we take an honest look at video games and digest what they're actually about and what you can expect going in if you haven't played it yet. This time around is Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain which turns out to be a cross between a Horror B-Movie and Jarhead; but with a little bit more shooting.
It seems like iOS have had the upper hand for months when it comes to playing Fortnite on the go, Then came along Nintendo Switch and they snaffled it up too. Poor Android users of the world are still waiting, but if rumours are to be believed we are only a few weeks off of joining in all of the fun. There is one small caveat though. Even when it's live, you won't be able to see Fortnite for download on the Google Play store, and there is a reason for that, but could it effect Fortnite's visibility and potential user base on Android enabled devices?
It's like all my birthdays have come at once. I got into Star Trek much later in life than I should have done and had only, up until that point, seen the odd episode of Next Generation and Voyager. Revisiting them through the assistance of Netflix ensured that I had myself a thorough Star Trek diet that wasn't predominantly the rebooted J.J Abrams film series. Next Generation was the crowning jewel in the history of Star Trek for me and easily my favourite. It explored morale dilemas, the human condition and equality during a time these things were cutting edge and these same lessons are needed to be taught more than ever today.
Marvel had a run and a half on Netflix where every other week it felt like a new hero was getting a series on the platform. The one that started it all was Charlie Cox as Daredevil and in my opinion it is not just the original but the best. The Punisher was good too, something about Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle is just perfect casting. It's been all quiet on the renewal front although it was assumed Daredevil would see a return, being arguably the flagship for Marvel on Netflix. The widely reviewed as 'meh' Iron Fist is returning but we've got better news!
