It probably goes without saying by now that we're really into Fortnite here at G.E. Whether you are a fan or not, this story is funny and heartfelt regardless of your feelings towards the battle royale portion of this game. I'm almost sure, by now, that you have seen Muselk, a popular YouTuber and streamer who recently has collaborated with Lazarbeam of the Let's Play network, and his attempt to rescue a fellow stranded player. EPIC certainly did and have immortalised the moment in-game, courtesy of the new update.
If you haven't seen the video yet, you really should, because what comes below is a direct result of the end of this incident. It was all over Facebook and the official Fortnite Twitter account even shared the disastrous rescue attempt to its many followers:
In the most recent 1 Year Birthday update (v5.10) EPIC have included a nod to Muselk's unintentional victim, Chappadoodle, by placing a tombstone at the spot that the player was trapped. In a bid to ensure this tragedy never happens again they also placed bouncy tyres at the foot of the ravine so that players can bounce their way back into the build height, which was the problem for Muselk as the stranded player was below the build-able area of the map. The golf cart would have provided something to climb on top of but fate had other plans. Muselk visited the scene of the murder after the update and shared this on social media:
With the laughing emoji he clearly doesn't feel that bad about the incident! As funny as it appears on the surface this isn't the whole story. Not only did Muselk brutally eliminate Chappadoodle, he also killed another potential saviour and Chappadoodle inadvertently put himself in harms way. Here is the whole incident from the perspective of Chappadoodle who posted the story via Reddit:
